Jaws
Earthquake
Beetlejuice
Revue
Wild Wild West
Stunt Show
The San
Francisco section of Universal Studios including Amityville, is really plagued by
disasters. Although these disasters are all loads of fun, do you know of
another area that has earthquakes, killer sharks, undead ghouls and a family of outlaws
from the Old West?
The most popular ride in this section is
definitely Jaws, one of the rides that first put Universal Studios on the
map. It's just as popular as ever, so see the other attractions first and check back
later. Don't worry if it starts to get late, some say that the Jaws ride is best
experienced at dusk. In the waning daylight, the explosions are more vivid and you don't
know where "Bruce" the killer shark will strike.
If that seems too intense for you,
check out the Wild Wild West Stunt Show. There are loud noises like
gunshots, but none of the actors will try to bite you. (we hope) The
humorous nature
of the show keeps the anxiety level low and the stunts are pretty good.
Earthquake
lays someplace
between the two other rides. It's not as thrilling as Jaws, but you'll definitely get
shaken up. There's a behind the scenes introduction to the movie "Earthquake"
before the actual ride where audience members get to re-create scenes from the movie. The
ride portion of the attraction puts you in a subway car headed for an earthquake
that measures 8.3 on the Richter scale. Hang on!
The final attraction in San Francisco is Beetlejuice's
Graveyard Revue. This show isn't scary, but there's lots of loud music,
explosions and undead costumed actors. The show is surprisingly funny and entertaining.
Beetlejuice has some great one-liners and the show moves at a good pace. Check the
timetables for showtimes.
