Production Central is where much of the movie magic takes place. You'll get a reminder that Universal Studios is not just a theme park, but a functioning studio.

nicklodeon sign brush.jpg (8118 bytes)Universal Studios Florida serves as the headquarters for Nickelodeon, the kids' network. Most of the channel's original programming is taped here, and Universal patrons get an extensive behind the scenes look at the facilities. If Nickelodeon is taping, you get to be in the studio audience.

The only ride in Production Central is The Funtastic World of Hannah Barbera. It's a motion simulator ride where you chase Elroy Jetson's kidnappers! The ride is more severe than you expect, and the 3-D animation is incredible.

Fans of suspense will love the Alfred Hitchcock - The Art of Making Movies attraction. Like other attractions in Universal, The Art of Making Movies gives you a behind the scenes look at it's subject. Hitchcock movies like The Birds and Psycho are dissected, and fans get a chance to participate in a re-creation of some famous Hitchcock scenes.

If you prefer swords and monsters over suspense, the Xena and Hercules: Wizards of the Screen attraction is for you.  You'll get a first hand look at all the computer effects and puppetry used in post-production for these two immensely popular shows.
