This
ride is one of the attractions that put Universal on the map. It opened to horrific
reviews as (along with Jaws) it failed to be ready for opening day, but it bounced back
quickly. Today, it is still considered one of the "must see" attractions in
Universal.
When originally constructed, Kongfrontation
must have seemed incredible, but it is now starting to show its age. It still
features he largest animated figure ever, but overall the ride lacks the punch of some of
the later attractions like Terminator 2.
One of the attributes of the ride is the
attention to detail. The lines twist through a subway station that has is covered with
inoffensive graffiti and you get constant news reports of Kongs location on overhead
monitors. The actual ride is a tram voyage through New York as King Kong tries to take a
bite of the Big Apple. The ride is five minutes long and is probably too scary for small
children. If time is short or youve been on it before, skip Kongfrontation-
youll get more action per wait on other rides.
