UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ISLANDS OF
ADVENTURE HOME TO A DAZZLING ARRAY OF DINING EXPERIENCES RANGING
FROM GREEN EGGS AND HAM
TO DRAGON SCALE ALE

Fantastical fare. Cosmic culinary creations. At neighboring Universal Studios Florida the slogan is "live the movies." At Universal Studios Islands of Adventure one appropriate mantra might be live the restaurants.

Universal Studios Islands of Adventure is more than the theme park for the next millennium, it's the theme park for the next "meal-ennium." The park's creators not only feel they've assembled the greatest rides ever built, they believe "Islands" collection of restaurants is unprecedented in imagination and playfulness.

Green eggs and ham. Dragon Scale Ale. Dagwood Sandwiches. Pizza Predattoria. Not only great alliteration but more importantly, taste bud titillation.

In Seuss Landing, the world-famous victuals featured in the fabled Dr. Seuss tale of Green Eggs and Ham become reality at the Green Eggs and Ham Cafe. Guests can sidle up to the giant green ham-shaped cafe, order real green eggs and ham (or more traditional breakfast fare) and consume the unconventional meal while seated under sunshades which are replicas of colossal fried eggs - green of course.

Mythos Restaurant represents the ultimate dining experience in Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. Designed by world-renowned restaurant designer Jordan Mozer whose signature eateries span the globe, Mythos will re-define the very essence of a restaurant.

Lying offshore a craggy grotto on The Lost Continent, Mythos is nestled in a massive, dormant volcanic rock formation. Once journeying inside, guests soon discover this restaurant is very much alive. According to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure Vice President of Design and Creative Development Mark Woodbury, "Mythos is a place where the people of lost civilizations gathered to view the natural phenomena of an embryonic universe -- the alignment of the stars, the path of the sun, the sensory rapture of wind and rain."

Subtle, yet extraordinary effects accentuate the environment's magical milieu. While guests feast on gourmet cuisine like blue corn crusted mahi mahi with sweet baby bell peppers and tomatillo sauce, wood roasted Maine lobster with corn and bacon stuffing and bourbon barbecue sauce or rotisserie game hen with wild mushroom risotto and seasonal spring vegetables, the natural harmonic sounds of a rippling estuary dance about Mythos' visitors.

Universal's own Dragon Scale Ale is the featured adult beverage at the Alchemy Bar, located inside The Lost Continent's Enchanted Oak. Architecturally fashioned after the trunk of the oak tree into which (according to legend) Merlin the magician was frozen by the Lady in the Lake, oak-fired bar-be-cue dishes are featured along with occasional appearances by Merlin himself.

Guests who survive the harrowing 85-foot drop in the Jurassic Park River Adventure can watch other visitors thrill to their harrowing plunge while seated in the dry comfort of the Thunder Falls Terrace, which is entirely bordered on one side by an enormous glass enclosure. An outdoor dining area is also available for guests who want to feel the soft dew wafting from the mammoth thundering waterfall.

On Toon Lagoon, guests can sample edibles made famous by some of the world's best-known and most-loved cartoon and comic-strip characters. Blondie's: Home of the Dagwood, named for the insatiable appetite of comic-strip protagonist, Dagwood Bumstead, serves an abundance of stacked sandwiches that guests can purchase by the inch. The weight conscious Cathy is the star of Cathy's Ice Cream and hamburger aficionados can sample the classic American burger and other delights at Wimpy's, named in honor of Popeye's hamburger noshing pal.

Numerous other food and beverage outlets enhance the guest experience at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure including the Captain America Diner and the Cafe 4 on Marvel Super Hero Island, and the Pizza Predattoria and The Burger Digs in Jurassic Park.

In Seuss Landing, guests will discover the Hop on Pop Ice Cream Shop, Moose Juice Goose Juice and the Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous, a circus-based cafe featuring a throng of Seussian characters from trapeze artists to jugglers. And in the park's Port of Entry, visitors can select a snack at the Confisco Grille (and Backwater Bar) or a tasty tidbit at the Croissant Moon Bakery.
