Universal Studios Florida - ET Adventure

E.T. Adventure

et sign rect.jpg (13895 bytes)Universal Studios worked closely with Steven Spielberg to bring this attraction (and it’s star) to life. Fans of the movie will enjoy this ride because it takes you through the adventure of helping ET get home. You ride vehicles that look like bicycles and get to take the famous flight over the woods with ET in your craft’s front basket. (He pops up out of the basket several times)

The ride itself is very similar to the Peter Pan’s Flight ride at Disney and is notable for many of the same reasons. et mr happy rect.jpg (5963 bytes)The attention to detail is remarkable, and kids love the sensation of the flying bicycle. You know you’re in for a special ride as soon as you get in line. The main waiting area is built to resemble a thick forest, with the voice of ET beckoning you forth. Smaller children might get a bit anxious here because of the darkness and various sounds, but others will appreciate the pre-ride build-up. The attention to detail is most evident at the end of the ride, when ET gives you a personalized message. The five-minute presentation is billed as a thrill-ride, but it probably won’t get your heart racing unless you really, really, love ET.
