Sea World by the mid-eighties,
was starting
to lose its appeal. The park was looking shabby and so were the exhibits. Shamu
still brought people to the park, but once they were there, visitors were treated like
chum rather than a friend. All this changed when the park was bought by Anheuser-Busch in
1989. (Which might explain the presence of Clydesdales in a marine park)

World Sea Lion and Otter Stadium |
Clyde and
Seamore Take Pirate Island" features the park's hilarious sea
lions, otters and walrus in a swashbuckling adventure, featuring the
most elaborate set ever in a sensational tale of lost loot, pirate
plunder and misadventure on the high seas. Click

of the Deep Exhibit |
Seaworld's
Terrors of the Deep exhibit is a whole nerve-rattling experience
that takes place within a white building that houses about four large
Plexiglas tubes. Within the tubes (behind the glass, of course) lurks
the world’s largest collection of venomous, carnivorous, and
otherwise life-threatening sea creatures. Click

World's Journey to Atlantis |
In an
effort to change their image, Seaworld has added a fantastic
water-flume ride that provides more thrills than ten Shamus. The
premise of the ride is that the lost city of Atlantis has resurfaced
in the middle of a Greek harbor. Amidst the resultant media frenzy,
you board the only crafts that can go to Atlantis; dilapidated
fishing boats. Click
here for more information.
There are several
different attractions that showcase Shamu’s extraordinary leaping,
diving, and general ability to entertain. For example, in "Shamu
Adventure," the whale is joined by animal guru Jack Hanna in a
simulated trip to exotic locales like Alaska and Norway. Click
here for more information about Sea World's Shamu Stadium.

Information about Sea World . . . . |
Anheuser-Busch already owned and operated
other theme parks like Busch Gardens and knew what it took to make the park work. Today,
in addition to being the worlds largest zoological park, Sea
World Orlando is a fun
family destination on par with Disney and Universal Studios. Basically, this aint your
fathers Seaworld.
New attractions were added and others were
revamped to make the experience both fun and educational. This Orlando
attraction will make you
think about marine preservation and other politically correct ideals without clobbering
you over the head with them.
Sea Worlds new attitude is exemplified
in the Journey to Atlantis ride. Thats right, Ride . This fantastic thrill
ride combines high-tech effects with the fun of a lightning quick water flume ride.
Its probably the best water ride in existence.
You can easily spend the entire day at
here, but you can probably cover the highlights in an afternoon.
