This ride is one of the "real" roller coasters in the Magic Kingdom. Despite being only 4 minutes long and not very severe, this is a great ride. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is modeled after Utah’s Monument Valley and features lots of little touches that make the ride enjoyable. There are animatronic characters, sound effects and over a quarter of a million dollars worth of antique mining equipment. It’s a great starter roller coaster because it has all the thrills without the whiplash.
