This is one of the most exciting attractions in Disney. Much scarier than the typical Disney ride, the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter is based on the Alien series of movies. A gruesome alien is accidentally transported into the room and eventually breaks free of it’s bonds. As the alien scampers around the chamber, you’ll want to jump out of your seat and run for the exits. The show is exciting and uses some terrific special effects to really give you a start. (We wouldn’t give away any surprises) There are moments of complete darkness and speakers imbedded into the rear of the seats really add to the thrill. Small children will probably turn white and pass out, but older kids and teens won’t have a problem.

When the ride was first presented to Disney CEO Michael Eisner, he sent the designers back to work because thought the ride wasn’t scary enough. They solved the problem extremely well.
