Most people make a beeline for Africa at
rope drop every morning. It is here that you will find the Kilimangaro Safaris, a
trip through 110 acres of African savanna that has quickly become Animal Kingdoms
signature attraction. After the safari you can walk along the Pagani Forest Exploration
Trail, where you can see African birds, naked mole rats and a troop of gorillas. One
of the highlights of this tour is where you get an underwater view of bathing hippos.
Africa is also where you can catch the
Wildlife Express to The Conservation Station, where visitors can learn about the
preservation of wildlife and their habitat.
You enter Africa through the village of
Harambe, which means "coming together" in Swahili. There are several shops and
restaurants in this area including the upscale Tusker House Restaurant. 13 Zulu artisans
were Harambe is a good place to have a light lunch or a snack because of the numerous
vendors and eateries.
